Latte Oreo Thins Review

It has been two years since the last coffee-related Oreo launch. Back in 2017, we were blessed with Dunkin’ Donuts Mocha Oreos. That one was a limited-time only flavor, and I was extremely sad about that since I was a big fan. When I heard that Oreo was launching a new Latte Oreo Thins variety, I immediately checked into whether or not these will be a permanent flavor this time around. The answer to is yes, and if these are as good as the Dunkin’ Donuts Mocha Oreos, I am going to be one happy camper.

Story time… I once ordered a latte from Starbucks, and got some weird super fruity tropical frappuccino instead. Me, not an avid coffee drinker, thought that was just how the Starbucks latte tasted. When I commented to my friend (who also ordered a latte and actually got a latte) about the fruity flavor, she bursted out laughing. I proceeded to try her latte and I remembered saying “ooooh so that’s what a latte should taste like”. So yeah. Before I dive into this review, please know I am not the world’s biggest coffee fanatic, but I officially know what a latte tastes like to compare these cookies to.

As soon as you open the package, you are struck by a noticeable coffee scent. Long story short: these are good. The taste is perfect! The creme has a strong coffee flavor, is semi-sweet and milky. To me, this tastes more like a vanilla latte rather than just a regular latte. The more cookies I eat, the more vanilla I pick up on. The strong coffee flavor is balanced perfectly with the chocolate wafers and you are left just wanting more and more.

You obviously have to be a coffee fan to be interested in these. Just imagine, drinking a iced coffee, laying sitting under the shade, with a book in one hand, and Latte Oreo Thins in the other. Honestly, I am glad these are a permanent flavor! I do recall enjoying the Dunkin’ Donuts Mocha Oreos a tad bit more, but that may be because they were actual Oreos and not Oreo Thins. If you enjoyed those Oreos a few years back, you’ll most definitely enjoy these as well. I can’t stop eating them!

If you’re wondering…I did go back to Starbucks that evening and had them remake my drink. Knowing Starbucks prices, that latte was probably like $24.59, so I definitely wanted them to get my order right at the very least.

I steal my nieces’ Halloween candy and laugh about it, put whipped cream on vegetables, don’t trust food that isn’t in a package, and worship ice cream. Chips are my favorite snack and might just end up being my downfall. I would marry Flamin' Hot Cheetos if it was legal (and not weird). Born and raised near Detroit, I grew up eating delicious coney dogs, unique pizzas, and of course --- all the best snacks.
