Hot Cocoa Chocolate Reviews — M&M’s, Hershey’s Kisses, & Dove

Pumpkin spice season is officially dead until next year. Thankfully, there’s always a new flavor of the season for us to enjoy. Ladies and gentleman, welcome to hot cocoa season! Yes, we still have the classics — peppermint, gingerbread, white chocolate. Hot Cocoa is the new craze and Hershey’s and Mars are here to prove it with the launch of three new hot cocoa flavored chocolates!

Winter is on its way and the days are getting colder. You want to stay warm during the cold winter days and we pretty much have two options to do so. Your first option is to drink hot cocoa like eight times a day. Your second option is to eat hot cocoa chocolate constantly and put on some weight so you combat the cold. Looks like I am taking option two this winter!

According to the packages, each of these feature milk chocolate with a ‘marshmallow creme’ flavored center. I like that because hot cocoa isn’t hot cocoa without the marshmallows!

Up first is Hot Cocoa M&M’s. First impression after eating these is that there’s nothing special about these and that they are just slightly sweeter M&M’s. It’s not till a few moments later when you finally taste the hot cocoa aspect! Sweet, creamy, and milky M&M’s. A tad too sweet for my liking but they definitely give off those hot cocoa vibes!

Next up is Hot Cocoa Hershey’s Kisses. The package features indicates that the cream in the inside isn’t solid and it oozes out, similar to the the caramel in Hershey’s Caramel Kisses. Sadly, this isn’t the case, which let me down a bit. Even more of a bummer, these didn’t taste like hot cocoa as much as the M&M’s did. They are pretty darn close in taste to original Hershey’s Kisses with a slightly sweeter and creamier aftertaste. Still, silky and smooth and yummy — just not really the advertised flavor.

Lastly, we have Hot Cocoa Dove Promises. Right after biting into one of these, I knew right away that this one was my favorite of the three! The marshmallow creme is softer and replicates the hot cocoa flavor pretty well. The rich taste of cocoa is coupled with the sweet marshmallow creme center. Soooo smooth ans they just melt in your mouth (just as a marshmallow in a cup of hot cocoa does)!

So…to backtrack to my plan for the winter. Remember when I said I was going to take option two? That still stands. I’ll be putting on like 63 pounds this winter in hopes of me never getting cold again. Plus, I am too lazy to take option one and make hot cocoa like eight times a day. That’s a lot of work, you know. Who needs to make hot cocoa when you can just consume it in chocolate form? If you wanna buy these, just keep in mind that the M&M’s and Dove varieties are Target exclusives…which means Santa can’t bring you them since there’s no Target in the North Pole. Get your butt to Target and try these!

I steal my nieces’ Halloween candy and laugh about it, put whipped cream on vegetables, don’t trust food that isn’t in a package, and worship ice cream. Chips are my favorite snack and might just end up being my downfall. I would marry Flamin' Hot Cheetos if it was legal (and not weird). Born and raised near Detroit, I grew up eating delicious coney dogs, unique pizzas, and of course --- all the best snacks.
