Market Pantry Unicorn Magic Ice Cream Review
Remember that Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino from about a year ago? If you tried it — there’s no way you forgot about it, considering how disgusting it was. It was brightly colored and looked amazing, but unfortunately tasted gross. That Unicorn Frappuccino gave me PTSD with all snacks associated with unicorns. However, never had I heard of unicorn ice cream. Unicorn Ice Cream is a now a thing thanks to Target! I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. As soon as I spotted this walking down the ice cream aisle at Target, I said a prayer and placed it in my cart. It better not be shitty like that darn Frappuccino.
This new Market Pantry Unicorn Magic Ice Cream has a cute ass unicorn on the package. Also on the package is a description of what this “Unicorn Magic” flavor is: “Pink fruity ice cream with a sour blue raspberry swirl, frosting swirl, and glitter candy bits”. Glitter candy bits!!! I’m so stoked.
I’m a pretty big fan of fruity ice creams, and this one sounds like something I would enjoy. As soon as I get home, I open the package. It looks a little disappointing. I was expecting a brighter color. However, looks can be deceiving and we are here just for the taste. So, how does it taste?
It tastes like unicorn magic. Legit, this stuff is so magical! The pink fruity base really is fruity and reminds me a less sweet version of superman ice cream. However, the rest of this ice cream helps this ice cream really stand out. The blueberry swirls are a tad bit gooey in texture and adds a bit of sour notes to the flavor. The white frosting swirls are very fluffy and reminded me a lot of melted marshmallows. The glitter candy bits are found in two varieties throughout the ice cream. Standalone tiny fragments of candy are found throughout the ice cream and they reminded me a lot of Pop Rocks Candy in texture (minus the popping effect). I also noticed small strips of white chocolate with dots of color embedded into them, which are the tiny pieces of candy. YUM!
Did the candy really resemble glitter? Unfortunately no. It had no shimmer or sparkle. But who the hell cares because this ice cream is absolutely delicious. The pink fruity ice cream base when combined with the gooey sour blue raspberry swirl, the fluffy frosting swirl, and fun candy bits make this ice cream a definite buy.
This Unicorn Magic Ice Cream has restored my faith in unicorn products. Thank god, this ice cream isn’t a let down like that shitty ass Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino. Do yourself a favor and run to Target to grab this ice cream. My main concern was that this ice cream was going to be incredibly sweet, but I have to admit — Target did a wonderful job not going overboard. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. Not only does this ice cream taste delicious, but it also makes you feel like you are a 12 year old girl. I was going to share this ice cream with my nieces…sadly, I will probably eat it before I see them next!
