Halo Top Blueberry Crumble Review

The average slice of blueberry pie contains 360 calories and 2 grams of protein. The entire pint of this Halo Top Blueberry Crumble ice cream is 360 calories and is packed with 20 grams of protein. Same calories… so this ice cream better be good. This is Halo Top’s seasonal flavor for the spring months — which throws me off a bit since blueberry pie is definitely a summer flavor. Just imagine… it’s a hot summer day, on the 4th of July, and you’ve got Blueberry Crumble ice cream to enjoy by the pool. Nope. Sadly, this flavor probably won’t be on shelves then. Blueberry pie is one of my favorite types of pie, so I am either going to love this ice cream or absolutely hate it.

I open the pint and immediately am hit with a strong blueberry scent! I smelled blueberry the second I took the lid off. Blueberry swirls and bits of pie crumbles are present throughout the ice cream, and just by going off the smell, I know this is about to be delicious.

Oh my gosh. Yummy yummy yum! This is so delicious! The blueberry flavor is so potent without being overwhelming… and, it’s creamy too. The blueberry swirls add even more blueberry taste to the already very blueberry flavor. Very blueberry pie-like! They nailed the blueberry taste. It’s not that crappy artificial blueberry taste we usually get in ice creams and candies. This blueberry tasted pretty legit to me. However, after a few bites, I was wondering where the pie crumbles were. I didn’t notice any bits throughout the pie — err, I mean ice cream.

After taking out my microscope and examining the ice cream for about an hour, I finally saw them. I’m only kidding…but seriously, the pie crumbles are tiny and easy to miss. I was hoping for bigger crumbles and for more to be present. The tiny crumbles still do the trick because they do add to the texture. They are very soft and melt in your mouth as you eat the ice cream. I do feel like they could’ve improved with these crumbles by either making them bigger, or adding more in.

All in all, I am a huge fan of this flavor and am really bummed it is a seasonal one. If you’re a fan of blueberry, I highly recommend you try it for yourself while you can. It wasn’t just the blueberry flavor that I loved…the creaminess also really got me hooked! I definitely got the blueberry pie vibe eating this ice cream. Will I be stocking up? For damn sure. My fatass also be complaining to Halo Top to make this a permanent flavor.

I steal my nieces’ Halloween candy and laugh about it, put whipped cream on vegetables, don’t trust food that isn’t in a package, and worship ice cream. Chips are my favorite snack and might just end up being my downfall. I would marry Flamin' Hot Cheetos if it was legal (and not weird). Born and raised near Detroit, I grew up eating delicious coney dogs, unique pizzas, and of course --- all the best snacks.
